The EU Unaltered

The European Union (EU) remained at resolute position over the Delegated Regulation Supplementing Directive 2018/2001 of the EU Renewable Energy Directive II that entered into force on 10 June 2019. The Delegated Act shall remove palm oil from EU bio fuel market.

CPOPC joint mission to the European Union (EU) on early April 2019 sought to persuade the EU to change their position over the regulation, yet it come up with disappointed outcome.

CPOPC Member Countries are welcome to revisit the issue.

The EU had stated that CPOPC Member Countries are welcome to revisit the issue when the Delegated Regulation is up for a review in 2021. To respond, CPOPC shall bring the Delegated Regulation to the WTO Dispute Settlement. Joint arrangement between Ministry of Trade of Indonesia and the Ministry of International Trade and Industry of Malaysia is being prepared for the WTO litigation action.
