FAO Goes with Palm Oil
ROME – Council of Palm Oil Producing Countries (CPOPC) endorsed the development of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) Compliance of Vegetable Oil initiative of the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), which selects oil palm as the commodity for the pilot project. In mid-May, CPOPC Executive Director, Mr Mahendra Siregar, met with Director General of FAO, Mr José Graziano da Silva, in FAO headquarter in Rome, Italy, to discuss about the initiative.
The Ministers responsible for the palm oil industry from Malaysia, Her Excellency Mdm. Teresa Kok, Minister of Primary Industries of Malaysia, and His Excellency Mr. Darmin Nasution, Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia co-chaired the 6th Ministerial Meeting of Council of Palm Oil Producing Countries (CPOPC) in Jakarta, Indonesia, on 28 February 2019. PUTRAJAYA – To boost domestic demand and push forward the palm oil industry, Council of Palm Oil Producing Countries (CPOPC) organized Business Forum on 12 February 2019 in Putrajaya, Malaysia. Over a hundred palm oil stakeholders from five countries attended the event that aims to promote higher biodiesel blends in Malaysia and wider use of hydrotreated vegetable oils (HVO), the next generation of biodiesel.read more
