CPOPC Palm Oil Supply and Demand Outlook Conference (POSDOC) 2019 and Indonesia Malaysia CEO Forum (IMCEOF)
JAKARTA — Council of Palm Oil Producing Countries (CPOPC) is organizing the first Palm Oil Supply and Demand Outlook Conference (POSDOC) to be held on Tuesday, 22 October 2019 at Hotel Tenera, Bandar Baru Bangi, Selangor, Malaysia. This is an inaugural conference, and CPOPC is planning it to be a yearly international event.
The objective of the conference is to provide a strategic platform for interaction and in-depth deliberation on three key aspects related to the palm oil industry namely production supply, market demand, and price outlooks. The objective is for the participants to gain valuable perspective on the latest forecast and outlooks in order for them to devise timely strategy and market plan for 2020.
The Honorable Minister of Primary Industries Malaysia has been invited to deliver Keynote Address and officiate the Conference. There will be 10 distinguished speakers from Malaysia, Indonesia, Singapore, and Colombia who are prominent in their authority, experience and expertise, making it a high impact conference.
This conference will incorporate Indonesia Malaysia CEO Forum (IMCEOF). Prominent captains of the industry from the two largest producers and exporters of palm oil will be invited to share their views and future directions in mapping the priorities, interests and aspirations of the palm oil producing countries. The theme of the CEO Forum is on Striving for Sustainable Supply & Demand and Remunerative Prices of Palm Oil.
TRADE POLICY ISSUES. Palm oil is undoubtedly one of the commodities that has been developed to improve the economic and social fabric of palm producing nations. The comparative advantage that palm oil has over rapeseed, amongst others, that is largely produced in Europe, has created unprecedented challenges to the industries in developed nations.
